City’s Bharat Bhawan hosted a series Aadaranjali, that was organised in loving memory of BV Karanth, director of Rangmandal in Bhopal. His works are still remembered by today and every artiste wishes that he was groomed by the director. On the occasion of his death anniversary, Ranjana Tiwari and Rajeev Singh, who were the students of the reverent director organised the series. It comprised of musical performances and plays that were dedicated to BV Karanth.PORTRAYING A WIFE’S WISDOMA part of the series, the play revolves around the attitude and behaviour of the people in current times. Where everyone goes for materialism and is extremely selfcentred, it makes them lose respect for others emotions. A play portraying today’s reality Jungle Mai Khulne Vaali Khidhki was staged at Bharat Bhawan. The hundred minutes long play has three main characters, Rajeev Verma played the role of husband, Praveen Mahuwale played a young man and Mahua Chatterjee played the wife. The play is a satire on human behaviour and is directed by Prashant Khidwadkar.RANG SANGEETThe musical performance was based on the songs used by the director in his plays. Rang Sangeet was directed by Rajeev Singh and Ranjana Tiwari. A forty minute musical performance which kept the audience hooked until their last song. The group started off with Shankar Bholenath Bhavsagar se Bachaiyo and concluded with Faag. All the songs were clubbed with many instruments playing in the backdrop.
It is a unique style used by BV Karanth. The director used many instruments while composing the songs for his plays. The group comprised of fifteen singers and three rhythmic who were trained in a five days workshop before the show. No doubt, it was a compelling performance on the first day of the series.

IN SEARCH OF BV KARANTHRangjangama, a Kannada play was staged as a part of the Aadaranjali series at Bharat Bhawan. Directed by S Ramnath, it was presented by the artistes of the Sanchari Theatre Culture and Charitable Trust, Bengaluru. The play is written so as to discover the personality of BV Karanth. Through the play, S Ramnath praises the uniqueness of the songs and music that BV Karanth had used. The director has used characters from his plays like Natakkar from Kattale-Belaku, Padmini from Hayvadan, Hirvilak from Mrichhkatikam, and Dasru from Satvara Nerlu, and a young actor who is in search of BV Karanth’s lead actor. The play concludes with the dramatist’s decisions of writing plays anymore.
